Today I had one of those disheartening moments in an entrepreneur's life.

Simpsons did it.

Minisites were the hottest thing for domainers for the past year or two. Everyone seemed to be jumping on the boat offering them for prices averaging low-mid $xxx. How come nobody was ever preaching about their success with them? If they were delivering value to domainers wouldn't you expect entire portfolios transformed into these silver bullets that would save domainers? That simply didn't happen, the only people making money were/are the ones offering the service.

I had the pleasure of being able to listen to Björn Almér and talk with him after about his startup experience with Barista Fair Trade Coffee, Sweden's 3rd largest coffee chain.

"Websites using the .yu domain extension will cease to be available online from 30 September."

Interesting to see how this goes. This is the first end of a TLD that I am familiar with. I wonder if it will be a common process if the new gTLDs get launched? Only 4000 sites on the platform so this is a nice small scale test, but I worry about larger ones and political implications as well as technical ones.

I was recently talking with an affiliate manager for a company. I've been talking with them for many months trying to work something out. This particular day I was informed of a special bonus, they were more than doubling their signup bonus for the first action an account took. Sounds great? Not so fast.
